Blueberry-Apple-Mint Dog Treats

Freshen up your pup’s breath with these easy, homemade dog treats! Mint is great for freshening breath, while apples can help keep teeth clean, therefore also helping with fresh breath. Full of fiber and antioxidants, this recipe contains only healthy, real ingredients that are safe for your pup. Your furry friend is sure to go crazy for these blueberry-studded biscuits, and you’ll love how easy they are to make.

Makes about 20 (depending on the size of your cookie cutter)


Blueberry-Apple-Mint Dog Treats

  • ½ cup apple-blueberry puree baby food

  • ¼ cup apple, grated

  • ¼ cup blueberries, chopped

  • 2 Tbsp mint leaves, finely chopped

  • ¼ cup old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 1⅓ cup whole wheat flour

  • 1 large egg

  • 1½ Tbsp honey


Blueberry-Apple-Mint Dog Treats

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Mix well with a spoon, and then knead the dough together with your fingers until incorporated. (If the dough is sticky, add a little bit more flour.)

  3. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet.

  4. Bake for about 24-26 minutes, or until crispy and golden, rotating the pan halfway through baking. Remove the cookies from the oven and let cool completely before giving to your dog.
