Sweet Potato Dog Biscuits

Treat your dog like they’re a part of the family with these sweet potato dog biscuits that are made from baby food. These thin and crispy treats are simple, economical, and much healthier than many store-bought treats. Plus, you’re four-legged friend will love these tasty treats!



The sweet potato biscuits are the ones on the far right. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter, though any shape can be used.


Ingredients

Sweet Potato Dog Biscuits

  • 4 oz pureed sweet potato baby food

  • ¾ cup whole-wheat flour

  • ¼ cup old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 large egg, beaten


Directions

Sweet Potato Dog Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the sweet potato, flour, oats, and maple syrup together. Press the dough into a ball and transfer to a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough 8-10 times.

  3. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to ¼-inch thickness. Cut the dough with a cookie cutter of your choice and place on the prepared baking sheet.

  4. Lightly brush the tops of the cookies with the beaten egg.

  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden and crisp.
