I used a heart shaped cookie cutter, though any shape can be used.

Ingredients

Sweet Potato Dog Biscuits

  • 4 oz pureed sweet potato baby food

  • 1½ cups + 2 Tbsp whole-wheat flour

  • ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup

  • 2 large eggs, beaten (keep separate)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the sweet potato, flour, oats, maple syrup, and one egg together.

  3. Press the dough into a ball and transfer to a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough 8-10 times.

  4. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to ¼-inch thickness. Cut the dough with a cookie cutter of your choice and place on the prepared baking sheets.

  5. Lightly brush the tops of the cookies with the other beaten egg.

  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden and crisp. Remove from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack.
