Ingredients

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Cake

  • ⅓ cup creamy peanut butter (natural peanut butter with no added sugar or salt is best for dogs)*

  • ⅔ cup pure pumpkin puree

  • ¼ cup coconut oil, melted

  • ¼ cup honey

  • ⅓ cup unsweetened applesauce

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

Peanut Butter Frosting

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • ⅔ cup creamy peanut butter (natural peanut butter with no added sugar or salt is best for dogs)

  • Bacon crumbles

Directions

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8-inch round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter, pumpkin, oil, honey, applesauce, and egg until well combined. Add in the flour and baking soda and mix until incorporated.

  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the cake springs back when touched lightly. Allow the cake to cool on a wire rack before removing from the pan.

Peanut Butter Frosting

  1. In a small bowl, mix the yogurt and peanut butter until well combined. Spread evenly on the top and sides of the cooled cake. Sprinkle bacon crumbles on top of the frosting.

*NOTE: Be sure to check your peanut butter for xylitol, which is extremely toxic to dogs.
