Peanut Butter Banana Pupcake

Every birthday should be celebrated with cake, no exceptions! Our favorite furry friends deserve to be spoiled with homemade tasty treats on their birthdays just like humans. That's why every year we go all out to ensure our fur baby is properly spoiled on his birthday. Since everyone knows dogs and peanut butter go hand in hand, I made Shadow his very own cake filled with peanut butter and banana, topped with a lightly sweetened honey vanilla cream cheese frosting, and decorated with chicken-wrapped bone-shaped biscuits. This super easy cake is made with all natural ingredients and is both dog and human friendly.


Peanut Butter Banana Cake

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • ¼ cup coconut oil

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1 cup mashed banana

  • ½ cup whole wheat flour

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup old-fashioned oats

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp baking powder

Honey Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 3 Tbsp honey

  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract


Peanut Butter Banana Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a cake pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, and vanilla until smooth and well combined.

  3. Add in the mashed banana and whisk well until very few lumps remain.

  4. Add in the flours, oats, baking soda, and baking powder and stir until incorporated.

  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.

Honey Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting

  1. Using an electric handheld mixer, beat together the cream cheese, honey, and vanilla until light and creamy. Spread the frosting on top of the cooled cake and decorate as desired.
