Makes 9 donuts
Ingredients
Peanut Butter Bacon Doggie Donuts
½ cup milk
½ cup creamy peanut butter (natural peanut butter with no added sugar or salt is best for dogs)*
1 large egg
2 Tbsp honey
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
3 slices bacon, crisply cooked and chopped
Honey Yogurt Glaze
6oz plain Greek yogurt
1 Tbsp honey
2 slices bacon, crisply cooked and chopped
Directions
Peanut Butter Bacon Doggie Donuts
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a standard donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, peanut butter, egg, and honey until combined.
Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in the chopped bacon.
Fill the cavities of the prepared pan with the batter until ⅔ full. Then evenly spread the batter using an offset spatula.
Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until slightly puffed and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes, then take the donuts out of the pan and allow to cool completely before glazing.
Honey Yogurt Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the yogurt and honey.
Dip the donuts one at a time into the yogurt glaze to fully coat the top and sides. Place the donuts on a wire rack.
Sprinkle the chopped bacon on top of the glaze.
Give to your pup to devour!
*NOTE: Be sure to check your peanut butter for xylitol, which is extremely toxic to dogs.
