Makes 9 donuts

Ingredients

Peanut Butter Bacon Doggie Donuts

  • ½ cup milk

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter (natural peanut butter with no added sugar or salt is best for dogs)*

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 Tbsp honey

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 3 slices bacon, crisply cooked and chopped

Honey Yogurt Glaze

  • 6oz plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 Tbsp honey

  • 2 slices bacon, crisply cooked and chopped

Directions

Peanut Butter Bacon Doggie Donuts

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a standard donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, peanut butter, egg, and honey until combined.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Stir the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until incorporated.

  4. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in the chopped bacon.

  5. Fill the cavities of the prepared pan with the batter until ⅔ full. Then evenly spread the batter using an offset spatula.

  6. Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until slightly puffed and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes, then take the donuts out of the pan and allow to cool completely before glazing.

Honey Yogurt Glaze

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the yogurt and honey.

  2. Dip the donuts one at a time into the yogurt glaze to fully coat the top and sides. Place the donuts on a wire rack.

  3. Sprinkle the chopped bacon on top of the glaze.

  4. Give to your pup to devour!

*NOTE: Be sure to check your peanut butter for xylitol, which is extremely toxic to dogs.
